You will work closely with colleagues across the business to develop and deliver effective sales solutions, support key commercial initiatives, and ensure long-term client satisfaction. This role is pivotal in shaping our sales culture, fostering high performance, and contributing directly to Energy Saving Trust’s mission of supporting energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
Key Responsibilities in Sales Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and implement robust sales strategies to achieve growth targets in line with organisational goals and sustainability objectives.
- Lead, coach, and support the sales team to deliver outstanding results, ensuring a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
- Identify new market opportunities, build strong pipelines, and maintain effective client and partner relationships.
- Work in partnership with marketing and product teams to optimise propositions and ensure client needs are at the heart of all solutions.
- Analyse sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare sales forecasts, manage budgets, and report on performance against key metrics.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the sales function and across all client engagement practices.
- Support the adoption of CRM systems and data-driven decision making to improve sales processes and efficiency.
- Promote Energy Saving Trust’s values and purpose through all external and internal interactions.
Essential Qualifications and Experience for Sales Manager Positions
- Demonstrable experience in a B2B sales management role, ideally within the sustainability, energy, or related sector.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving commercial growth.
- Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Analytical and data-driven with the ability to interpret commercial performance and market trends.
- Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
- Ability to foster a culture of equity, respect, and inclusion within diverse teams.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications in Sales
- Relevant professional qualification in sales, marketing, or business management.
- Experience with CRM tools and sales analytics platforms.
- Understanding of energy, sustainability, or public sector markets.
