Assistant Programme Manager- Northern Ireland
This is a part time role, 25 hours a week
The role
This is a fantastic opportunity to support high-profile energy programmes that tackle fuel poverty, promote sustainable energy, and contribute directly to the net zero transition.
As Assistant Programme Manager, you will support the Programme Manager in the delivery and smooth operation of Energy Saving Trust’s Northern Ireland programmes, including the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP).
You’ll be involved in programme administration, financial monitoring, reporting, stakeholder engagement and governance, ensuring funding is managed effectively and in line with agreed frameworks.
The team
The Northern Ireland team sit within the Energy Directorate of Energy Saving Trust. In Northern Ireland, our main focus is to deliver the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP), but we also are involved in other areas of work and deliver campaigns helping NI householders save energy and money.
There are currently four programme support officers who work very closely to support each other in delivering NISEP and report into the project manager of the team. The team also includes an assistant programme manager and is headed up by the programme manager for NI. The team collaborate with external stakeholders regularly and other teams of Energy Saving Trust.
What you will do
Support the administration and delivery of NISEP and other Northern Ireland programmes
Manage grant and payment claims, ensuring compliance with SLAs and programme frameworks
Maintain accurate financial records and oversee grant spend using CRM systems
Produce written and numerical reports, including interim and annual programme reporting
Contribute to the drafting and updating of programme frameworks and guidance documents
Liaise with Primary Bidders, regulators and key stakeholders
Support governance processes, audits and compliance (including ISO standards)
Represent Energy Saving Trust at meetings, workshops and events across Northern Ireland
Support wider organisational objectives around decarbonisation and energy efficiency
What you will bring
Experience working with grant programmes, funding schemes or public sector projects
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of financial processes, budgets and reporting
Ability to work independently, show initiative and meet deadlines
Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience working with multiple stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
